Classifications

3. Prong collars (choke collars) are a series of chain links with blunted open ends turned towards the dog’s neck. The pet collar is designed to prevent the dog from pulling by applying pressure at each point against the dog’s neck. Unlike choke chains, prong collar has a limited circumference, which can control how far they can constrict on a dog’s neck. With the angle of the prongs, the limited traction of the martingale chain prevents the prongs moving close enough to pinch the dog neck.
4. Choke chains are a length of chain with rings at either end so that the collar can be formed into a loop around dog’s neck. When the leash is attached to the dead ring, the pet collar does not constrict on the dog’s neck. When the leash is attached to the live ring, the chain slips tighter when pulled and slips looser when tension is released.
5. Harnesses are great for some owners who prefer for walking their dog or securing their dog in the car when traveling. When selecting a harness (lead or leash), please consider your preferred length, material and purpose.
